Once again, the grim reality for President Joe Biden is revealed in the latest poll results, as discussed by NBC’s Steve Kornacki and Meet The Press host Kristen Welker. As we approach the 2024 election, these numbers make it increasingly clear that Biden’s hold on the presidency is slipping away.
“The decline in support for Biden is becoming more apparent now. Consider these figures,” Kornacki remarked while analyzing the recent survey.

When asked about key traits and issues such as tackling inflation and managing the economy, respondents favored former President Trump over Biden. A whopping 52 percent of respondents chose Trump, while a mere 40 percent opted for Biden – a striking shift of 22 points towards Trump.
The poll also highlighted Trump’s superior ratings when it came to mental and physical health. A significant 45 percent of respondents expressed more confidence in Trump’s cognitive abilities compared to Biden, who received a pitiful endorsement from only 20 percent of the respondents.
When asked about competency and effectiveness, 47 percent chose Trump over Biden’s 36 percent. “Interestingly, when we posed this question in 2020, the results were almost reversed. Back then, Biden held a 10-point advantage over Trump,” Kornacki pointed out, eliciting a surprised “wow” from Welker.

“Similarly, with crisis management, Biden was previously favored over Trump. But now? The tables have turned between the former and current presidents. Such shifts are rarely witnessed. Now we can quantify it,” Kornacki added.
When asked about their presidential records, voters once again favored Trump over Biden – another reversal from 2020. “Once again, Trump surpasses Biden on this front too. And let’s not forget to mention this as well. Mental and physical health requirements. We asked this question four years ago. The results were evenly split then. Now, it’s a clear disadvantage for Joe Biden,” Kornacki informed viewers.
These are all alarming indicators for Biden.

Polls consistently reveal voters’ concerns regarding Biden’s mental fitness and his handling of the economy. Despite a massive spending spree by Biden, these issues persist even as the overall competition between Trump and Biden has tightened in recent weeks.
The Biden campaign seems to have recognized their electoral shortcomings and shifted focus towards “Bidenomics.” Despite continuous polls showing dissatisfaction with inflation and the overall economy, Biden’s economic advisors continue to assert that he has “the world’s strongest economic” record.
It appears that the campaign is now attempting to address concerns about Biden’s mental fitness, as demonstrated by a new campaign ad claiming that the president is “sharp as a knife.”
