Kamala Harris, the Vice President and Californian with Indian and Jamaican roots, has once again been caught masquerading as a Southerner. This time, she was seen putting on a Southern accent during her recent speech in Atlanta, Georgia. “And you all helped us win in 2020, and we gon’ do it again in 2024,” she stated with an unconvincing drawl.
This absurd display of cultural appropriation didn’t escape the notice of social media users who quickly made a mockery of her attempt to mimic a Southern accent.

As Daily Wire contributor Matt Walsh pointed out: “‘We gon’ do it agin in twunny twunny fo!’ Kamala seems to have developed Sudden Onset Urban Accent. A condition that the last female presidential candidate famously suffered from,”
Listen to Hillary affect a southern accent when speaking in Alabama. Hillary is so devoid of any innate personality or sense of self that she will readily pretend to be someone else as long as it benefits her. pic.twitter.com/eQv8dEm97H

The VP’s sudden adoption of regional accents is not new. In fact, there are instances where she switched her accent while addressing voters in Georgia during the Senate runoff elections in 2020. She seemed to adopt an artificial southern drawl while discussing widespread devastation across the country.
Such chameleon-like behavior was also observed during campaign events in North Carolina and Washington D.C., proving that this is more than just a one-off incident.
Did you see Kamla Harris channel Hillary Clinton and fake an over the top southern accent while boasting about getting rid of Trump tax cuts?
She grew up in California and Quebec. Yes let me repeat that, she grew up in California and Quebec.

Seemingly taking cues from President Biden himself, who is notorious for adjusting his accent and backstory depending on his audience, Harris is continuing a trend that reeks of insincerity. Biden, while campaigning in 2012, even went to the extent of telling black churchgoers that then-Republican candidate Mitt Romney was going to “put ya’ll back in chains.”

In 2022, President Biden quoted an obscure “southern saying” during a speech in Florida that left everyone baffled: “You know, as they say in southern, doesn’t know where ya’ll been… hot damn boy.”

While Democrats continue their laughable attempts at pandering and cultural appropriation, Republicans remain steadfast and authentic. The choice for voters is clear.
