Didn’t See That Coming! Trump Announces Plans for GOP Debates

On Sunday, former President Donald Trump announced his plans for the upcoming Republican primary debates on Truth Social.

Upon citing sky-high poll numbers that shows him dominating the GOP field, he announced that he will not be participating in “the debates.”

“New CBS POLL, just out, has me leading the field by ‘legendary’ numbers. TRUMP 62%, 46 Points above DeSanctimonious (who is crashing like an ailing bird!), Ramaswamy 7%, Pence 5%, Scott 3%, Haley 2%, Sloppy Chris Christie 2%, ‘Aida’ Hutchinson 1%,” Trump wrote.

The presidential candidate continued, “The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & much more. I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!”

Not quite what I would have expected from our fiery former president. We are used to seeing him mop the floor with other candidates and politicians, in typical Trump fashion. Now it seems he is just going to sit back and let them take each other out.

The first debate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is scheduled for Wednesday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is still unclear as to whether or not Trump will be at the first RNC debate or not. According to Politico, former Trump Vice President Mike Pence believes his former partner will be there.

However, other sources report that he will not even attend the first debate, but will be sitting down with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson instead.

Other candidates expected to be at the Milwaukee debate include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

In July, DeSantis states that he will “be there, regardless” of whether or not Trump shows. He added, “I hope everybody who is eligible comes.”

Ramaswamy also noted that he does not care if  Trump shows, as he is looking at it as his “chance to introduce myself to the country, and so I have no issue with whatever decision he wants to make. If he’s on there, great. If not, I’m fine with that.”

  • Trump does not need to be at this debate. Why should he subject himself to being harassed?
There will be other debates. He has made clear as to how he stands on issues.

    • Debates are used by candidates to display, inform, argue to voters why their intended policies could be successful. Outside of MSM, leftish, globalist Democrats again using chyrons across the airwaves to second-guess Trump’s proven success and to downplay our current admin’s proven failures, M is exactly correct that President Trump has already displayed and informed, and his policies are effective for the U.S.

    • Can you demonstrate against success just because it will certainly continue to be maligned? And how do you argue for the resultS of bidenomics?

    • I think we already know. He must be one of the best known people on the planet, and we have seen him in action more than anyone else. Debates just turn out to be abuse fests.
