NM Sheriff Stands Against Tyranny – Won’t Enforce Gov’s Unconstitutional Gun Ban

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued an emergency public health order on Friday to suspend the right to carry firearms in public across Albuquerque and Bernalillo County for at least 30 days after the shooting deaths of three children in the area.

When local law enforcement and reporters expressed that her oder violated the Second Amendment, the governor declared, “No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute.

On Monday, Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen announced that he will not enforce her “unconstitutional” ban on concealed carry.

“My oath is to protect the Constitution and that is what I will do,” he asserted. “The governor made it clear in her press conference [that] she knew we as law enforcement did not agree with the order. As a result, this was solely her decision.”

The Associated Press quoted Allen stating, “It’s unconstitutional, so there’s no way we can enforce that order.”

He also declared that the order “does nothing to curb gun violence.”

Ironically enough, footage revealed on Monday shows Governor Grisham admitting to a reporter that the ban on concealed carry will not impact criminals.

A reporter can be heard asking Grisham, “Do you think that criminals are going to hear this message and not carry a gun in Albuquerque, on the streets, for 30 days?”

The governor replied, “Ah….no.”

Then what is the point of the ban other than to punish law-abiding citizens and attempt to flex power that she does not possess?? It’s all control tactics.
