Purple Heart War Hero Sentenced Almost 20 YEARS In Prison Over J6

According to reports, a decorated war veteran and Purple Heart recipient was sentenced to a whopping 17 years in prison for attending the January 6 Capitol “riot.”

Judge Timothy Kelly sentenced Joseph Biggs to nearly two decades in prison after he was arrested and charged in connection to the capitol riot on January 6, 2021. He was charged with offenses related to his participation in the protest.

Biggs was handed the hefty 204-month sentence for walking into the Capitol building for about 20 minutes during the so-called “insurrection.” The government was originally seeking a 33-year sentence for Biggs, however, Judge Kelly found that to be “egregious” since previously convicted offenders caused mass casualties.

Trending Politics News reports:

Suzzanne Monk, an advocate for J6 defendants who has also been reporting on the Proud Boys trial for AMP News, has been a regular presence in the courtroom. She expressed her criticism of Judge Kelly’s ruling to The Gateway Pundit, stating, “Judge Kelly’s decision is an attack on the constitutional principles of this country and will lead to far more violence and division in our nation.”

Monk further argued that the judge should remove himself from all J6-related cases, adding, “I love Joe. Joe Biggs is a hero. He deserves none of this. None of these sentences will stand through appeals and congressional action.”

The sentence has been criticized for its severity, especially when compared to other cases related to the Capitol riot. Judge Kelly even openly conceded that handing down a harsher sentence might lead to inconsistencies in judicial outcomes.

Adding to the complexity of the case is Biggs’ personal life, his mother is ill with cancer. Biggs choked up in court as he spoke about his daughter, who he said was a sexual assault victim. He also expressed regret for his actions, stating, “I was seduced by the crowd, and I just moved forward. My curiosity got the better of me. I’m not a terrorist. I don’t have hate in my heart.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke out in Biggs defense, declaring that “J6’ers need to be pardoned.”

She tweeted, “Proud Boys organizer Joseph Biggs sentenced to 17 years by U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly. How many violent BLM rioters are serving 17 years?!! Especially after rotting in jail for the past two years.”

Greene added, “They’ve been persecuted enough.”

They are making an example out of him…and a harsh one at that.

    • Michael Byrd SHOULD have been imprisoned since Jan. 6 when he murdered Ashli Babbit, but the iron fist of DC communism protects itself first, before sanity can even show it rusting.

  • This is a very sad day in America. Let’s hope the next administration sees fit to honor this man & the others by setting them free & replacing them with the crooks from the current regime.

  • Absolutely NO pardons will be given out during Joe Bidens term in office. Maybe the next POTUS will try to unite the USA again instead of dividing it, saturating it with crimnal aliens, and reportedly destroying the economy.

  • No matter how you look at it this was a Pelosi hate Trump action and the people that got caught up in her hate are now paying the price. She should be thrown out of Congress and Washington DC as an embarrasment to the nation and all J6 prisoners released.
