On Wednesday, Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus was brutally attacked in her courtroom while sentencing three-time felon Deobra Redden.
Holthus was sitting behind the bench and upon denying bail, Redden sprinted towards her and jumped the bench to attack her. Several men then fought with Redden and threw him to the ground as an alarm sounded.

The Hill reports:
Before the attack, Redden’s attorney asked Holthus to sentence his client to probation. Holthus then said, “I think it’s time he get a taste of something else.”
On April 23, Redden “[threatened] to bust the kneecaps” of another man, “resulting in substantial bodily harm,” documents said.
In May, a different judge ordered Redden to undergo a competency determination, records said. Redden was then committed to a state behavioral facility. A judge then found Redden competent in October.

This is wild.

Redden pleaded guilty in November. Judge Holthus issued a bench warrant for his arrest in December after he missed a court appearance.
Redden was booked into the Clark County jail on new charges of battery and battery on a protected person. One count of the battery-on-a-protected-person charge indicated the victim was “substantially harmed.” He was due in court on the new charges Thursday.

I am honestly just trying to figure out how on earth he could have thought attacking the judge would work out in his favor. Or perhaps the answer is that he was not thinking at all and only saw the world through a red lens of anger.
It sounds to me like she was right to deny his bail!
“Thank God the judge is okay,” said Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson. “Thank God for the heroic efforts of those who came to her aid, especially her marshal and her law clerk. Without them, the situation would have been much worse as this defendant exhibited extremely violent behavior and I’m confident there will be consequences.”
Thanks Obama’s for you free pass entitled potential children. Thanks liberals for wanting Criminals to walk among us with no consequences. If it were me: I’d give him the Death Penalty for attacking a Law Enforcement Officer because that angst isnt going anywhere but to the body of his next victim. Just like Terrorism – end them now and move on
unbelievable … he should be locked up forever .
Big AMEN! The filthy SOB would never see daylight ever again if I had a say so in it.
And the stereotype continues, I wonder why…….Smh!????
Just another example of the sick Biden administration of not having any consequences for bad behavior & thinking he could get away with his crimes.
That happen in Federal court about a year ago. A U.S. Marshal shot the guy dead before he could get to a witness on the stand. Good shootin’!
