Popular British children’s character Peppa Pig wished fans a “Happy Pride Month” on its official instagram account, which swiftly prompted backlash from parents.
The social media post featured Peppa, alongside her friends under a rainbow, with the words “Happy Pride Month” scrawled across the rainbow.
Why they would feel the need to share something like that with their audience of children is beyond me. My child loves Peppa Pig but I will absolutely not allow her to be part of the indoctrination. My three year old has no business celebrating anything of a sexual nature and to think otherwise is plain sickening.

One parent replied to the post, “Why do y’all want kids knowing about stuff like this let them be kids and let this page just be about kid things.”
“On Christmas you posted Happy Holidays in fear of offending but you have no problem posting for pride. Do you think more of your audience celebrates Christmas or pride? Unfollow,” another commented.
“I hope you do the same thing for our veterans and respect for unborn babies,” read another comment.
The backlash was not contained to Instagram, and quickly spilled into the Twitter-sphere.
One person tweeted, “Big Gay….preschooler entertainment.”

Another simply wrote, “Goatesque” and another replied, “They are trying to brainwash your children.”

In an equally disappointing post, Youtuber Ms. Rachel, who is famous for her shows geared towards babies and toddlers, posted on TikTok wishing her viewers a “Happy Pride.”
She said, “Happy Pride to all LGBT families and friends this month and every month.”
Ms. Rachel added, “I see you, celebrate you, and wish you all the love and joy that you deserve.”

This is extremely disheartening considering watching Ms. Rachel is what helped my three year old come out of her shell and start talking more. My one year old also loves her bubbly songs and dances. It was already enough that there is a woman names Jules on the show who dresses like she is a man. However, I think this really crosses the line for many parents.
As one mother commented on the TikTok, “Cancelled sis.”
Let the kids be kids!
