According to 538 forecasting, President Joe Biden as the favorite to win the 2024 election over Donald Trump.
Their election simulations show Biden wining 51 times out of 100 with Trump winning 49 times out of 100. As for the Electoral College, 538 has Biden with 271 electoral votes and Trump with 267.
For reference, the winner needs 270 electoral votes to win.
“The 538 election model puts a healthy amount of weight on non-polling factors such as economic growth and political indicators. Today these indicators suggest an outcome closer to a 3-point Biden win — clear in the opposite direction of national polls,” 538 said.
They continued, “538’s focus on uncertainty partially explains why our election forecast has not moved much in reaction to new national polls showing Trump gaining on Biden.”
